Cot mattresses, which model is the best, and why?
With babies spending a lot of time in their cot, it is important to ensure that the right mattress is selected, this quick blog will provide you with some key information regarding the models that have been highly rated within our past sales.
Babies tend to move from moses baskets to a cot at between four and six months old, and stay in the cot anywhere from eighteen months to three years old, so it is key to purchase a mattress that can withstand a potential three year continuous use.
Before settling on which of the two models to opt for, it is important to know the two different sizes on offer, a cot size will be 60cm x 120cm, and the cotbed will be 70 x 140cm.
The entry level model, and the most economical is the classic open coil mattress, this mattress houses a standard open coil spring system and can be found here.
The next model up is the luxury model, this mattress features a pocket spring system which offers more support as each spring works independently to respond to the babies movements throughout the night and can be found here.
Both mattresses have their merits, but the one proven to be most popular is the luxury model, this model won the Mother & Baby awards in 2019 and was shortlisted for MUMII in 2018.
Opting for the most supportive will have your toddler looking forward to going to bed each night and settling down for a bedtime story, and most importantly, each mattress will leave enough room for their favourite teddy!
