A quick guide to the different types of bed and which are easiest to assemble!
When looking to purchase a new bed, the first thing we tend to think about is style, colour, practicality and type, however, another key aspect to take into consideration is the assembly time, as some will take longer to assemble than others, so it’s important to be prepared and know your bed types, this quick guide will provide some useful tips to help you navigate the world of beds!
Are divan beds easy to assemble?
A standard divan consists of a platform top base, a single size will be one piece, sizes small double and above will arrive in two pieces and simply need connecting via a metal joining bar on either side, the assembly time is a matter of minutes, then simply pop the feet in underneath and you’re ready to go.
The only other additional step with a divan is to attach a headboard, this again is a matter of minutes by using between two and four screws depending on the headboard type whether it is strutted or floor standing.
Divans certainly offer more versatility in terms of customization, as these tend to be made to order, you can choose from a plethora of fabric types and fabric colours, along with various headboard shapes, sizes and designs, a divan offers more selection and attention to detail than a flat pack frame.
The only downside people can face with divans is manoeuvrability, as they are in large solid blocks, this can prove difficult navigating tight staircases, if this is the case, we can offer a split divan base, this can be found here.
Are bed frames easy to assemble?
Wooden, fabric, leather and metal frames all usually arrive completely flat packed, this can be ideal for those needing to navigate narrow staircases, or place beds into loft conversions, however, as they arrive flat packed, this does mean an increased assembly time, depending on the complexity of the frame this can be anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours.
The frame assembly consists of attaching the side rails to the headboard and footboard followed by attaching the slats and support legs.
Bed frames can have multiple colour options much like a divan, however, it’s a lot more streamlined in terms of choice, bed frames are sold as seen, what you see is what you get, whereas a divan, you have the option to choose your headboard design, and even footboard design in some cases.
Are ottomans easy to assemble?
Ottomans are the most practical bed option in terms of storage space, with ample amounts of storage these beds can help any bedroom remain clutter free, a number of ottomans tend to arrive flat packed much like bed frames, and the assembly time would be the same, however, as a manufacturer, we do offer a divan style ottoman which is just as customizable as the divans, with the ability to choose from a plethora of colours and choose which headboard you would like, and assemble in minutes, these can be found here.
Which type is easiest to assemble?
To summarise, both frames and divans have their benefits, but in terms of the actual assembling, divans certainly take the edge as the most straightforward with the assembly time taking a matter of minutes taking you one step closer to a perfect night’s sleep.
