Popular amongst those who want to experience exceptional comfort and unique support. A pocket sprung mattress has individual springs sewn into their own fabric pocket. Providing targeted support to areas such as hips, shoulders and back. Pocket sprung mattresses have an anti-roll feature that helps to prevent nocturnal disturbance.
A common misconception is the lower the spring count the softer the mattress. Adjustments to the gauge of steel used for the springs can alter mattress feel. This is further enhanced by the choice of internal fillings.
A 1000 pocket sprung is the entry level to high-end mattresses. A popular choice for first-time users providing excellent support and comfort.
The 2000 and 3000 pocket sprung mattresses use a smaller gauge of steel to get more springs inside. These counts are more responsive to your nocturnal habits with targeted support.
The Mattress Surface
We have 3 options available for changing the surface of your new mattress:
Hand Tufted Damask
Damask fabric covers the mattress providing comfort and coolness. Finished with hand tufting. A traditional technique, bed engineers drive tufts through the mattress at regular intervals. This secures fillings in situ, preventing movement over the lifespan of the mattress. Identifiable by a dimpled surface with felt buttons.
Hand Tufted Soft Knit
Same process, different fabric. A soft knit surface provides extra warmth for those who like to be snug.
Fillings are layered and stitched to the surface fabric. Then attached to the body of the mattress. The surface has a soft to the touch smooth surface compared to a hand tufted mattress.
Extra Layers of Comfort
As standard, your mattress will come filled with the finest fillings by our bed makers. As an optional upgrade, you can add layers of luxury to your new mattress.
Memory foam follows the body’s contours providing extra comfort and support. Memory foam retains heat and is more suited to those that feel the cold during the night. Although responsive, some users experience slower ‘bounce back’ when changing positions. Memory foam is a popular choice.
A natural material, Latex has similar properties to memory foam. Latex is hypoallergenic and quickly reacts to a position change. Suited to persons who are heat sensitive Latex doesn’t keep heat.
